= EMEN2 Ontologies =

EMEN2 organizes experimental data and definitions using a series of ontologies -- Parameters for experimental parameters, Protocols for experiment/record types, and Records for instances. In [[http://www.geneontology.org/GO.format.obo-1_2.shtml|OBO]] jargon, the "Parameter" ontology defines "TERMS," with the "Protocol" defining "TYPEDEFS". Records are "INSTANCES" based on an defined typedef and values for each term.

The parameter/protocol ontologies for Cryo-EM developed at the NCMI will be made published at some point in the near future, or on an individual basis upon request.
